Swatch dives happily into music radio for the first time ever, as Presenting Partner of the 5
th International Radio Festival in Zurich, Switzerland, from August 21 to September 7. The Festival celebrates the medium of radio and music as the one world culture that brings people together in the cause of peace. Jumping in with a big splash, Swatch brina gs whole-hearted commitment to the cause, with Proteam athletes and artists from The Swatch Art Peace Hotel set to join live broadcasts during the Festival. The first Swatch radio show ever will broadcast live from an innovative “Pop-Up Radio” station at the flagship Swatch Store in Zurich, to be followed a few days later by a second show from the Festival base station at Zurich’s Kaufleuten Club.
Live Swatch broadcast from “Pop-Up Radio”
Swatch Proteam athletes and artists will join the DJ’s at the mics for two live shows from the Festival. The first is set for August 30 and features Swiss beach volleyballer Joana Heidrich and freeskier Sam Anthamatten along with two former artists-in-residence from The Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. Joana, Sam and the artists will join a live broadcast from a new “Pop-Up Radio” station in the Swatch Store in Zurich’s famed Bahnhofstrasse. A second show set for September 5 will broadcast from the Festival base station at Zurich’s Kaufleuten Club, with Sam, Joana’s beach volleyball partner Nadine Zumkehr and Big Mountain snowboarder Xavier de le Rue. They’ve all created their own playlists and will be on hand “live and in person” to talk about their favourite music, sports and what it’s like to be a professional athlete.
