History Of DJ Documentary
(For IRF delegates only)
DMC are implementing major structural changes to their web site DMCWORLD.COM including a major commitment to film content on their visual platform DMCWORLD.TV.
DMC filmed DJ performances over 30 years of DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS stretch into the thousands but the first major project is the documentary series THE HISTORY OF DJ.
The documentary begins with Marconi’s radio invention and moves through America’s rock n roll radio, the 60’s UK pirate ships and the enormous influence in Europe of Radio Luxembourg. The club DJ’s success story is also mapped out from the pre-disco ballroom record spinner who came face to face with the Musicians Union to the multi millionaire superstar DJs of Ibiza and Vegas.
“I met a guy who had never in his life held a record let alone worked a record player”, recalls DMC’s founder Tony Prince. “I decided we had to provide a truer story than the comedy movie ‘The Boat that Rocked”. We want to create something that will sit on the internet for decades to come so new DJs and fans can see how this amazing industry developed”.
PART 3 of THE HISTORY OF DJ will be premiered at IRF on Friday, the 5 of September at 10:00 CET.
