Furthermore we expanded our festival from 4 days to an 18-days extravaganza – covering more music radio related content than ever before.
At this point we’d like to put a quick spotlight on this year’s international attendees: BBC Radio One, Soho Radio, Star FM Abu Dhabi, XFM London, Ibiza Sonica, Kiss92 FM Singapore, our HD Radio & CMJ competition “Best Canada/US College Radio DJ” winner Alex Spinelli and Italy’s most listened-to station RTL Milano. Just to name a few. You’ll get more infos about these stations and their special IRF shows and about further guests such as the winners of the “Sound of India” and Mixcloud “Internet Radio Awards” in the very near future.
On Wednesday, September 3rd we will host the SwissRadioDay focusing on stations and formats from all parts of Switzerland including a little surprise show provided by SRF Virus.
From August, 21st till September, 2nd we will feature every night (20:00 – open end) showcases of Swiss labels hosted by our own speakers Nik von Falkenberg and Honey-K. So be prepared for some funky shows with homegrown talents like Drumpoet Community, MISM Records,Miteinander Musik, Electrosanne, Kumquat and more.
On a daily basis we (together with LIMUS) will also introduce you to the new Unikom (Union nicht-kommerzorientierter Lokalradios) DAB+ stations that will be on air in the German part of Switzerland from September on.
And last but not least: Radio history will be written on Saturday, Sep 6th when legendary radio pioneer Tony Prince (of Radio Caroline and Radio Luxembourg fame and founder of DMC DJ World Champs and Mixmag) will broadcast an exclusive “Radio Flashback” show and Gordon Mac (of London’s Kiss FM fame and founder of the new station Mi-Soul) will join him on air for an in-depth chat about the evolution of UK radio culture and therefore also about the future of the medium we all love so dearly.
Stay tuned for more news.
