IRF Pop-UP Edition hits London with Fun & Games

The IRF (International Radio Festival) arrived in London and already hired a Swiss Yodelling choir to rid Piccadilly Circus of pigeons to clear the airwaves for their exclusive London wide broadcast across the Olympic capital – of course just for some fun and (Olympic) games!

Acting as the ‘acoustic flame’ of Switzerland in London during the 2012 Olympics, the International Radio Festival’s Olympic Pop-Up Edition is a world first, broadcasting its 24/7 programme at the House of Switzerland, the official Swiss hospitality centre at the Olympic Games, from 20th July to 12th August 2012 on a temporary London-wide DAB frequency, as the only independent, dedicated lifestyle event and festival radio.

For three weeks the IRF Pop-Up Edition will present some of the best Swiss contemporary music and their “makers”, all with close ties to the world of music radio. They will be joined by stars such as Norman Jay, Edidie Piller, Martyn Ware, Mark Jones, and Toddla T. Also featuring local radio stations form Sheffield, Brighton and East London.

Tune-in on DAB across London, on cable all over Switzerland, and online around the world…. best of all, why not come on down to the House of Switzerland by London Bridge, and join in the fun and games “live” from the IRF radio studio bus!
