Tony Prince
Sixties pirate radio veteran from Radio Caroline
Tony Prince was a pirate DJ (Radio Caroline) and later broadcast for 16 years on Radio Luxembourg. Founder of DMC (Disco Mix Club) and the world's first DJ magazine Mixmag.
Will be sharing "Everything to do with the DJ industry including The World DJ Championships and the TV documentary The History of the DJ":
Herbert Visser
Founder and CEO of the Netherlands' Radio 10NL.
Digital evangelist, Herbert founded not just one radio station, instead preferring to operate "a number of radio stations and broadcasting them on FM, DAB+, cable, satellite and the internet, with an AM station for good measure" adds Herbert.
Ed Hooper
Co-founder of the Australian social media app Omny Studio
Ed will be sharing an insight to how "Omny Studio is an all-in-one audio management platform that helps Radio stations grow their audience, reduce production costs and monetize their content".
Dan Jones
Founder of East London's uber cool web-radio Hoxton FM
The pioneer of web-radio start-ups founded Hoxton FM in late 2011 "with the objective of developing an incubator and hub for creatives wanting to share inspirational music, art, fashion and culture. Our vision was to deliver high quality audio and video content with a focus on diversity and innovation. Within four years the station has developed into 100 presenters producing 60 shows which today generate 20,000+ unique monthly listeners and is based across three studios in east London. All this has been developed without public funding, external investment or the sale of any advertising space. The station utilises innovative methods of revenue generation to maintain its independence" says Dan.
Gordon Mac
Known as the Godfather of Dance Music Radio, Gordon Mac is a highly innovative and successful entrepreneur with wealth of radio experience and knowledge – most recently having launched his new radio station Mi-Soul. Having carved out his career as the first person to succeed in taking a pirate radio station to legalisation in the UK, Gordon is the youngest ever Managing Director of a radio station and renowned for creating the infamous Kiss FM brand.
Scott Cohen
Artist manager, A&R and founder of digital distribution company The Orchard. He started the company with music veteran Richard Gottehrer in June 1997. The Orchard is the largest digital distributor in the world with offices in 25 countries. As a well-recognized public speaker and lecturer, Scott Cohen travels the world evangelizing new business models for the digital age. He is a visiting professor at London Metropolitan University and sits on the British Phonographic Industry Council. Cohen's music career started in the late 1980s in independent and major label artist management. In addition to his responsibilities at The Orchard, Cohen runs a music management company with longtime partner Richard Gottehrer. Together they manage the Danish band The Raveonettes, the American all-girl band The Dum Dum Girls, The Deer Tracks, Queen Kwong, Bleech, Dan Owen and Fallulah. Scott Cohen and Richard Gottehrer reactivated the Instant Records. Instant Records was one of the original punk labels/production companies with acts like Richard Hell and Blondie.
Rania Younes
Rania Younes, Radio and Tv producer and anchor. Rania moved recentlyto
Abu Dhabi and joined Star Fm - Abu Dhabi media company to produce and
prepare the morning show "Sabaho" on Star FM.
Andreas Erwig
Andreas Erwig is Vice President of Business Development and Business Operations for TomTom’s Traffic Product Unit. In this role, Erwig is responsible for all traffic related business opportunities with customers in the automotive, wireless, location based services, government, GIS segments. Andreas Erwig joined TomTom in January of 2012; for the first two years of his tenure with TomTom, Erwig was responsible for outlining the roadmap, defining the product and running program management for the Traffic Product Unit. Previously, Erwig spent five years as the Director of Traffic for Europe at Navteq and three and a half years as the Director of Marketing for Destinator Technologies. Erwig holds a degree from the Helmut Schmidt Universität in Hamburg, Germany.
Gabby Sanderson
British DJ Gabby Sanderson is a highly experienced radio and television host, music journalist, and live club DJ.Gabby came to Alt 983 direct from XFM, the UK’s biggest alternative commercial radio station, Gabby blasted out ‘Music That Rocks’ to over 1 Million FM listeners in London, Manchester and Scotland. Gabby is one of Britain’s leading female indie alternative dance party DJs playing all of the major festivals in UK and Europe and can be found DJing for Propaganda monthly at Acme Feed & Seed.
