“Live” Montreux – Billie Bird & Loraine Cotting

On Thursday July 12, between 4-6pm the Swiss Radio Tour takes halt in Montreux, at the Place du Marché by the lake. There we will present the following local hero bands, with their Unplugged concert, right in front of the IRF radio studio bus:

Billie Bird   &   Loraine Cotting

Together with the music portal MX3.ch, we have converted an original Swiss postal bus to a fully functional radio studio. Before we place our radio studio for its three week stay at the House of Switzerland in London, we will drive our iconic acoustic vehicle (in full Chalet Chic Kitsch) through Switzerland as part of the IRF Swiss Radio Tour, accompanied by two MINI’s!

Monday the 9th July sees the kick-off for our tour. We will take a pit-stop in six chosen Swiss cities – Lugano, Basel, Chur, Montreux, Zurich and Bern – and present an unplugged concert session of up to four “Local Hero” bands.

Who is going to drive with us to London?

The Swiss Radio Tour is not only intended to illustrate the journey of the Swiss acoustic torch through its homeland; the tour is also a contest to find the winning band/artist. Our jury will select the best band out of a total of 16 who best represents the Swiss Olympic acoustic spirit and will be flown to London in order to perform on the main stage at the House of Switzerland on the 12th August.

The Swiss Radio Tour is open to all to enjoy at no cost. So come on down and support your local bands!

You even stand the chance of winning a MINI mini bike!

Die International Radio Festival Pop-Up Edition in London during the 2012 Olympic Games is kindly supported by:

EDA/Präsenz Schweiz, MINI, SWISS, Schweiz Tourismus, SRKS/FSRCSwiss Travel System, Zurich Tourism, und MX3.
